Deus Vult Mission Statement: The Kingdom Mandate
We operate under the mandate of the Lord’s Prayer: “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10, ESV). We identify the Kingdom of God with common parlance Christianity, recognizing that the world is God’s territory and an opportunity space for His Will.
Our primary means of doing God’s Will is to the best of our ability—acknowledging we are not perfectly righteous—by exuding and expressing God’s attributes in our day-to-day lives.
Core Principles
- Toleration with Limits: We are tolerant of an unbelieving world (including opposing religions and atheistic socialism). This tolerance holds only to the extent that such ideologies reciprocally tolerate the Christian's non-negotiable right to practice and do God’s Will in any public space and within our homes. Likewise, our Christian children possess the non-negotiable right to do God's Will within their institutions of child care and learning.
- Militancy as Exception: We claim our territory through the peaceful expression of God's character. The Will of God is only defined as militant at those specific times in history when self-evidently dark and hostile forces have given God's people the distinct charge of militantly claiming territory to decisively defeat an evil cultural force that has marked Christians and God’s attributes and values for elimination.
